Founded in 1884 by Adolphus Busch and his partner. In 1904 the Lone Star Brewery was build on Jones Avenue in San Antonio. In 1918 is the brewery closed due to prohibition, it ended in 1933 where the brewery re-opnes.

In 1940 is the first Lone Star Beer, based on premium formular, developed by Peter Kreil from Munich.

In 1976 is the brewery acquired by Olympia Brewing. In 1999 buys Pabst Brewing the brewery.
