LD Nathan is established in 1840 as a trading company in Russell, New Zealand. It moved to Auckland soon after.

Lion Brewery is one of the ten major brewing companies that, in 1923, amalgamate to form New Zealand Breweries Ltd.

In 1958 is Steinecker (renamed Steinlager in 1962) born. In 2009 it changes name to Steinlager Classic.
