Since 1627 where Zacharias Boiling brew the first beers. 1734 is the name Wolters first written in the Braunschweig history. In 1876 gave Duke Wilhelm in Braunschweig and Lüneburg the title "Hofbierbrauer" to Carl Christian Wolters.

In 2003 became Wolters a part of InBev. But in 2006 was it again a private brewery.
