1183 founded Prämonstratenser-Monks a monestery and started brewing. The brewery „Untere Brauhaus" was later to Gasthaus „Zur Krone".

From 1852 came the brewery to the family Nessensohn and Sauter.

1906 bought Josef Ott the brewery.

1992 änderte Jürgen Josef Ott den Namen „Brauerei Ott" und führte stattdessen die Marke SCHUSSENRIEDER als Dachmarke ein.
