| Maribo Bryghus

When Queen Margrethe I of Denmark founded Maribo Kloster (convent), and with that Maribo town in 1416, was it after great influence from the sacred Birgitta. The Birgittinerorder was confirmationed by the pope in 1370. Brigitta-sisters moved again to Maribo in 2003. Royal Unibrew closed the brewery in 2008. Some of the beers are now brewed on other of Royal Unibrews breweries (Albani). |

When Faxe also owned the Odin Brewery in Viborg was there also made a serie named Den Blå Viborg. After Lolland-Falsters Bryghus was cloced the serie was continued by Maribo Bryghus, but only as "Den Blå Nykøbing". | |
