Burghers in the city Plzen decided in 1839 to found the Mestansky pivovar (Burgess' Brewery). Autumn 1840 was the construction ended. The first brew of Bavarian type beer, the bottom-fermented beer was brewed October, 5. 1842.

1. 3. 1859 was the “Pilsner Bier” brand name registered at the Chamber of Commerce and Trade in Pilsen.
