St. Bernardus

Watou, Belgium

St. Bernardus started brewing beer in 1946. They made an agreement with the Trappist Monastery St. Sixtus (Westvletern) to brew there beers. In 1962 a new 30-year deal was signed to keep the beer flowing until 1992.

The agreement ended in 1992. Now they are brewing their own beers.
