Anno 1871. In 1963, the Benedictine abbey of Maredsous entrusted the production and sales of their beers to Duvel Moortgat. The monks continue to exercise strict control over its recipes and quality standards right up to today. |

| Introduced as "Victory Ale" after victory in the first world war in 1918. In 1923 the beer became the name Duvel "The Devil". This ale is cold storaged after bottling. | |
