Du Bocq

Purnode, Belgium

 
     

Martin Belot started brewing in 1858. He was a farmer in Purnode.

After the first worldwar started Du Bocq to brew the beer La Gauloise, a top-fermented brown beer. La Gauloise brown is nowadays the oldest beer brewed and produced by Brasserie du Bocq.

In 2015 it was taken over by Brouverij Corsendonk.

 


Blanche De Namur
wheat beer with spices. Won WBA09 - World Beer Awards World´s Best Wheat Beer 2009. Blanche De Namur (1313-1363). Daughter of the Count of Namur, became in 1335 queen of Norway and Sweden.

Corsendonk Christmas
Corsendonk was origianly from a Priori near the city Oud-Turnhout. The Priori was closed as monastery in 1785, and in the buildings is today a hotel.

N.V. Brewery Corsendonk distribute today beers which is contract brewed by others, here Du Bocq.

The aroma is smoky and citrousy, somewhat of a pinaepple smell. Taste sweet with a blend of cinnamon and coriander.
